2021
MAD- C supported the election of Kathryn Garcia for Mayor of New York
MAD-C campaigned for Garcia as by far the best candidate to become Mayor. Unfortunately she lost the Mayoral election by a few thousand votes out of millions cast. She was recently appointed by Governor Hochul to the Chief of Operations for the State of New York. We wish her well in her new job.
2020 Senate Races in Arizona and Georgia
MAD-C supported the election of Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in the general runoff elections. These were the last two seats in contention for the control of the Senate. Their victory gave the Democratic Party control of the Senate. We supported Mark Kelly in his successful Senate campaign in Arizona.
We also worked for campaigns in Maine, Colorado and North Carolina.
2018 Arizona
In our most successful effort, the Make A Difference Campaign worked to elect Kyrsten Sinema for Senate in Arizona. We mobilized more than 40 volunteers to text voters. We sent tens of thousands of texts to encourage Democrats to vote and to answer questions about locations and polling places. When we began Ms. Sinema was trailing in the polls but she won the election by a significant margin.
2017 Georgia
John Ossoff - Support Campaign in Georgia
We supported Jon Ossoff in a special election in Georgia. He came very close to winning a plurality in a three way race for Senate, but lost by a small margin in the runoff election.
2016 Maryland
In the lead up to the 2016 election we supported Jamie Raskin's campaign for congress in Maryland's 8th Congressional District, by soliciting donations and enlisting people to work on the campaign. Despite being outspent 3 to 1 by his opponents, he won by a large margin.
Following the 2016 presidential election MAD-C dedicated itself to mobilize people who felt helpless, frustrated, and angry by the election of an unpopular president. We continue to enlist people to bring democracy back to this country.
2016 New Hampshire
For the 2016 election, MAD-C canvased and raised money for Maggie Hassan who ran successfully for Senate in New Hampshire.
2014 Pennsylvania and New Hampshire
The organizers focused our efforts to canvas and raise money for two campaigns in the 2014 elections, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. In Pennsylvania Katie McGinty ran against the incumbent Pat Toomey but lost in a very close election. In New Hampshire, Jeanne Shaheen ran against John Sununu, the incumbent. Ms. Shaheen ran a great campaign and was successful in defeating the incumbent. She is now up for reelection in New Hampshire and MAD-C is looking forward to supporting her campaign.
We formed the Make A Difference Campaign (MAD-C) to draw attention to our efforts and to further the goal of supporting Democratic Senate candidates. Our efforts resulted in others becoming aware of the importance of the Senate and in having people work for and donate to these campaigns. We worked through local election offices for candidates in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Coopersburg, Pennsylvania and Salem, New Hampshire.
2008 Virginia
The organizers of the Make A Difference Campaign (MAD-C) began working on Barack Obama's first presidential campaign in Virginia in 2007. We did canvasing and fundraising in Virginia, a traditionally Republican, conservative state to help elect the first black president.
